Position Summary
The Director of Admissions oversees the day-to-day operations of the admissions staff to ensure patients have a smooth admissions process from first call to intake.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Manages the handling of admissions calls and ensures that staff provides the appropriate information to allow prospective clients to make decisions regarding treatment options
· Oversees the accurate completion of verification of benefits prior to admission, financial record keeping, agreement creation and signatures, fund transfers, etc.
· Manages the admission approval process, insurance verifications and other screening activities, prior to and for the first day of admission
· Reviews and ensures that admissions and financial staff are properly handling the client intake and admissions process, including activities prior to admissions: gathering of information, client profile and record creation
· Oversees the coordination of airport/house pick-up with transportation
department and distribution of pertinent information to the individual providing the transportation
· Ensures communication and sharing of information with doctors, nurses and other staff regarding anticipated admission of clients
· May meet and greet client and family/friends, provide introductions, tours, first level orientation for client and family
· Handles any escalated issues with admissions and troubleshoots from initial problem until resolutions
· Serves as on-call after hours and weekends support as necessary
· Provides training and supervision to designated staff and documents progress towards goals according to performance reviews
· Provides quality assurance for outside provider invoices and forwards to appropriate approver and department
· Manages administrative functions to ensure smooth operation of the team including timecards, updating admissions related documents and processes as needed, etc.
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Basic knowledge of Dual Diagnosis treatment
· Excellent verbal and written communication and decision-making skills
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
· Professional in interactions and communication with clients and referral sources
· Intermediate proficiency in MS Office
· Availability for alternate, evening and weekend shifts may be required to meet state and regulatory agency requirements and business necessity

Job Qualifications and Requirements
Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in a related field, required
o Master’s degree in a related field, preferred

Experience:
o 5+ years’ work experience with chemical dependency clients or related mental health, with emphasis on the 12-step model
o 1+ year’s management experience

Applicable State Requirements:
o Must meet pre-employment and maintain all applicable state and job-related guidelines for background screening, fingerprinting, drug testing, health screening (if applicable)
