Job description: *BFY – **3rd Shift Lead Quality Technician* BFY Brands, the newest brand addition to Frito-Lay (and PepsiCo) has an opportunity for a Quality Assurance Technician to join the team. The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for monitoring day to day processing and packaging operations through a set of standards outlined in the Company’s Expectation Policy Manual (Section B & C). Food Safety and Quality objectives are at the front-line responsibility and only trained personnel are qualified to operate and document these objectives. Here is a list of some of the more *frequent* *tasks* you could expect to perform during the workday: * Support in maintaining and adhering to AIB, FSSC 2200 & QAS standards, and results * Enthusiastically drive collaboration (teamwork) and continuous improvement through strong, committed, positive working relationships. Demonstrate a passion to support positive change. * Ensure all parameters of food safety and quality are being adhered to and maintained throughout the facility. * Provide coaching and serve as a positive example for Technicians. Provide feedback for employee reviews and corrective actions. * Assist with the training of Technicians. Ensure coworkers understand how to safely, efficiently operate lab equipment. Notify the Manager of opportunities for the team or individuals. * Attend all allocated monthly internal audits * Responsible for initiating, follow up, and close out all holds (Raw materials, WIP, and FG) including traceability in SAP * Ensure quality analytical equipment is calibrated and maintained to accurately measure and record quality attributes * Sensory skills expert and attend Product WALL as per set requirement (WALL facilitator) * Troubleshooting quality problems * Participate in on-site Food Safety Teams * Ensure accuracy of all laboratory and quality systems information and manage storage records * Drive quality systems and ensure adherence to PepsiCo and relevant external systems * Advocate and comply with site Anti-Contamination Policy to ensure the food safety of products produced on-site * Deliver all food safety and quality training programs to the relevant shift as per training calendar * Maintain the quality training matrix for the relevant shift * Complete on the job assessments and skills audits relating to testing and monitoring activities * Carry out sanitation audits and swabbing to verify cleaning to maintain the site AA testing requirements * Lead and be the point person for programs in Quality Systems (incl. QSHA and ASHA) * To develop and implement processes and or procedures to ensure all QSHA programs are implemented and effective * Be the champion for quality and the relevant shift * Complete testing and practical assessments as per region and sector requirements * Support GCS controls managed by the department * Review and manage customer complaints * Support with the management of key accounts and suppliers *Required Experience:* * Experience in a food manufacturing environment * Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills * Knowledge of processing and packaging equipment * Knowledge of HACCP systems * Knowledge of safe use of chemicals and plant hygiene practice * Good report writing skills * Good computer skills including knowledge in SAP * Excellent time management Does this sound like the role you?
