Job description: Lynker is looking for a Chief Growth Officer (CGO) to become an integral new member of our executive leadership team. This person will lead all new business development, a crucial role for Lynker as we expand our reach to address new scientific and IT challenges. The role will include leading and developing a highly skilled and experienced team of business development professionals; identifying, qualifying, and managing funding pipelines; developing new business opportunities; managing capture and proposal processes; and maintaining responsibility for all market segments. This person will have the opportunity to overhaul our business development processes to get results and stay ahead of a rapidly evolving industry, as well as advise on agency plans, organizational strategy, and annual operating plans. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, proven stellar leadership abilities, and a future-ready, in-depth understanding of the US government funding landscape. The CGO will report to the Lynker CEO.


Business Development

  • Expand BD architecture to position Lynker for success
  • Identify and develop talent within the business development team
  • Set and model high standards of business development outputs
  • Provide support to proposals, including performing capture management and technical writing
  • Coordinate BD activities with Lynker Division leadership

Growth Strategy and Execution

  • Co-design Lynker’s vision for growth (of business and impact) with the CEO and Leadership Team; owning the evolution and activation of the vision and growth strategy
  • Identify innovative ways to grow business, impact, platforms, and partnerships
  • Measure and analyze current revenue streams, offerings, and relationships to optimize our business growth and revenue strategy
  • Oversee strengthening of Lynker’s growth and revenue generation processes and capabilities aligned with the organization’s strategy
  • Lead strategic initiatives for sustainable growth of organization
  • Keep abreast with the trend in Federal contracting, State and local opportunities, commercial consulting, science, and technology to contribute to strategic decision making
  • Play a key role, both internally and externally, in representing the organization and liaising with key stakeholders including clients, government officials, and employees

  • BA/BS in related field plus twelve (12) years of experience in business development with a minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience
  • Able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of revenue growth and development of corporations
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship building skills
  • Knowledge and deep understanding of NASA, NOAA, and DoD scientific and IT funding landscapes
  • The ability to be strategic and manage tactical operations of a business development unit
  • Senior leadership experience in developing and managing portfolio of revenue generative initiatives/efforts
  • Senior level experience in overseeing and strengthening revenue generation practices
  • Self-motivated, results oriented and able to work independently and cooperatively within a team
  • Logical structuring, storyboarding and the ability to turn strategic projects and topics in compelling proposals and visual presentations
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage several projects of varying complexity at one time
  • Can be trusted to work with confidential and sensitive data
