Job description: Change.org is searching for a Director of Business Operations, Organizer Success to join the newly formed Organizer Success Department to provide optimal support to every campaign organizer.

You will provide data analysis and insights, operational business models, and strategic decision support to the SVP of Organizer Success to drive the scaling of both existing organizer success services and new service offerings. Our Organizer Success Department provides customer advice, services and tools for our most important users – the organizers who start petitions on Change.org. Come build it with us.

We’re a social impact business (a public benefit company), and the largest tech platform focused on civic action in the world with 50 million monthly users, 50,000 campaigns launched on the site every month, hundreds of millions of signatures per year, 200 staff, and a new revenue model that has grown by 500% in 2 years. We are profitable, growing fast, and executing on a plan to deepen and scale the social movements on our platform, from strengthening hate crime legislation in South Africa, to bringing down the price of insulin across the United States, to fighting corruption in Indonesia, Italy, and Brazil. We are seeing surging levels of activity right now as the world mobilizes to fight the Coronavirus and the cascading impacts of the Coronavirus on society’s most vulnerable.

We are looking for a Director of Business Operations for Organizer Success who is great at partnering with data analysts and stakeholders, implementing processes and programs, designing, building, or influencing large scale digital operations, services, programs or products, and has a passion for expanding our platform to mobilize hundreds of millions of people to take deeper civic action.

You will be based out of our NYC office (remote now) ideally, or remote elsewhere in the United States and report to our SVP, Organizer Success. As a key member of our Organizer Success Department, you’ll build the data models, frameworks, KPIs, and rubrics to improve and measure the impact of our existing services for Organizers, and drive the development of new services, thus helping thousands of organizers win their campaigns monthly.

Key Outcomes

-Support the formation of this new department as a member of the leadership team, including supporting new service offerings.

-Identify and remove obstacles in the organizer (customer) journey to increase the number of successful campaigns.

-Identify and support the deployment of replicable, scalable products and/or services to maximize organizer success.

-Engage cross-functional stakeholders in support of initiatives to scale organizer success services by articulating options, evangelizing change management initiatives, and negotiating trade-offs for continued momentum.

-Build an ROI model that allows us to prioritize department investments.

-Develop a lead scoring model to align organizers to the correct customer support services for their campaign.

The most important skills and capabilities for the role are:

Strategic Impact: You partner with data analysts and interpret complex datasets for business leaders. You have experience developing frameworks or rubrics to guide decision making, and are able to develop and communicate strategic roadmaps. You have experience drawing relevant insights from complex data sets, and communicating them to stakeholders to inform and influence strategic decisions. You are comfortable bringing order to ambiguous situations, and are able to bring others, including executives, on the journey.

Implementing processes and programs: : You are highly skilled in implementing processes to effectively manage multiple projects and/or programs simultaneously from inception to delivery while managing competing priorities, maintaining coordination, and communication with stakeholders.

Collaborating and working in partnership across a wide range of functions: You are comfortable partnering with cross functional teams, including Operations, Analytics, and Product Development. You quickly develop a nuanced understanding of how each service and digital product delivers value for Organizers.

Scale Experience & Thinking: You have experience designing, building, or influencing large scale digital operations, services, programs or products.

Target Background

-5+ years in business, marketing, sales, or customer success operations, including strategic planning and rollout of new initiatives.

-Experience supporting, designing or implementing service offerings for a technology, digital or software company.

-Practical experience partnering with internal business partners, such as finance, analytics, support, and product.

-Significant practical experience in data driven decision making, including data analysis, model making, ROIs, and regressive analysis, including communicating finding and influencing decisions.

It would be a bonus if you also had:

-Experience bringing new products or services to market.

-Experience leading a customer success program

-Experience developing product or service solutions for a global technology platform with millions of end users.

-Experience working for a two-sided consumer marketplace company.

This is a FULL TIME role, and while we do strongly prefer folks living in New York, New York, we are open to folks working remotely elsewhere in the United States as the role will be remote for the foreseeable future. Our team is high impact, low ego, and has an amazing culture to be part of now.

Change.org is a global company, and salaries are adjusted for cost of labor in each city. (For example, the annual salary of a Director is $153,500 in New York City and a Senior Director is $182,500. In San Francisco the annual salary of a Director is $160,000 and a Senior Director is $190,000. We may offer below the listed salary for high potential candidates with less experience, or above it for candidates with significantly more experience.
