More than a year ago, we began our journey to transform our approach to data and analytics from a batch-centric platform with siloed data marts, to our Nordstrom Analytical Platform (NAP), a real-time, event-streaming-centric, analytical platform that provides high quality, pre-stitched 360 views of our customers, products, inventory, store events and service and HR. The Nordstrom data team designs, develops and maintains software applications and services that support all of Data Engineering and Analytics business needs to drive the Nordstrom Omni channel experiences.

Over the next year we will be focused on data integration across Nordstrom to create a holistic view of the customer & products, enabling us to personalize their experience and engagement with Nordstrom to reflect their unique preferences and style. Delivering real-time data will be central to ensuring that they receive only the most relevant information and have a seamless online and offline experience.

The ideal Executive Assistant is motivated, results oriented and committed to delivering outstanding customer service every day! You will be supporting the VP as well their leadership team. We’re looking for someone who has a can-do positive attitude who demonstrates consistent high-level of performance while maintaining a professional demeanor and the highest level of confidence and trust!

A day in the life…

  • Responsible for supporting calendar management for several senior leaders; Proactively prioritize, schedule, prepare for, coordinate and communicate meetings and events
  • Schedule and plan dynamic activities (meetings, presentations, events etc.) across multiple teams using creative formats (including virtual events)
  • Triage and cascade relevant, actionable information to and from leadership, maintaining high levels of confidentiality where applicable
  • Facilitate internal communication and repeatable rhythm of the business practices (e.g. easily found and up to date information & reliable distribution methods)
  • Set up and regularly review operating practices and procedures; determine whether improvements can be made and work with management to implement changes as appropriate
  • Coordinate and schedule complex travel plans
  • Assist in maintaining department budget and maintain expense reconciliations
  • Actively drive special projects as assigned while keeping the office running
  • Help build company culture by organizing events to support employee engagement, setting up employee appreciation initiatives and generally making the organization a better place to work!!

You own this if you have…

  • Extensive (5+ years) experience supporting executives with large teams (70+ person teams)
  • Proven ability to anticipate and address your leader’s needs (even before they are aware of them), influence without authority, filter distractions and keep them focused
  • Clear written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to reflect your executives’ values and represent them in a positive and professional light that helps them make a strong impression on team members and key contacts
  • Ability to effectively build relationships with partners, peers and leadership and easily work across a wide variety of work styles
  • Unquestionable level of discretion, confidentiality and professionalism
  • Demonstrated flexibility, ability to multi-task, delegate and prioritize
  • Strong organizational skills, follow through and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience as a resourceful and adaptable self-starter, working with minimal supervision in an ambiguous environment
  • Strong customer service mindset and enthusiasm to help without being asked
  • Sound judgment and knowledge of when and how to take action or respond to and resolve unexpected issues
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite. Strong experience with calendaring/scheduling, Powerpoint, Sharepoint, Excel skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent training and/or experience
  • Although we are primarily working from home for the immediate future, you will be required to come to the office for meetings from time to time and potential travel 1-2 times per year
  • Prior retail, wholesale, supply chain experience would be a plus
