Job description: Role and Responsibilities
This position plans, organizes, and controls assigned Information Technologies (IT) projects from selection of tools and upgrades through implementation, user training and “go live.” The IT Project Manager will plan, budget, oversee and document all aspects of assigned projects; and may work closely with upper management and other departments to make sure assigned projects stay within defined scope, cost and schedule guidelines.

Managing complex projects related to IT infrastructure or business tools and applications – specifically as part of consolidation of IT Systems in M&A situations.
Managing day-to-day progress of assigned projects through constant interaction with cross-functional teams of engineers, manufacturers, managers and support personnel.
Defining projects at inception and providing financial and technical justification in support of capital expenditures, with a focus on maximizing return on investment.
Overseeing project budgets and schedules.
Addressing barriers that may prevent achievement of project goals.
Analyzing and resolving complex problems using project management capabilities and tools.
Preparing, conducting, and running medium to large technical and management meetings with internal customers and vendors.
Using business analyst tools to document requirements and processes, and communicating these to vendors to support system configuration.
Providing technical expertise and training to other departments in support of assigned projects.
Establishing supplier networks and creating and managing alliances with vendors.
Contributing to employee experience evolution within the organization and promoting organizational change.
Identifying, mitigating and managing project and organizational risks.
Maintaining the organization’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
Preserving assets by developing and rehearsing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
Recommending information technology strategies, policies, and procedures based on evaluations of organizational outcomes, problems, trends and evolving requirements.
Accomplishing financial objectives by accurately forecasting requirements and managing project budgets, initiating corrective actions, when necessary.
Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices and participating in professional societies.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a business, technical or management field.
Minimum five years’ project management experience.
Experience managing project teams of ten or more people.
Knowledge of project budget and schedule development and management.
Strong understanding of business systems and tools.
Ability to reason, plan, direct, and evaluate situations to make appropriate recommendations and take actions beneficial to assigned projects and the company as a whole.
Leadership ability with complex reasoning and problem solving abilities
Must display tact and self-discipline necessary to interface effectively with coworkers, customers, vendors, and all levels of management, employees, and the general public.
Knowledge of aerospace / defense market.
Direct supervision of assigned project team, who all report directly to functional managers in other departments.
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
