This is a Hybrid position within our IT Organization. The role will allow employees to work offsite but will also require onsite work based on business needs. The selected candidate will be expected to commute to the innovation center to which they are assigned as their primary GM facility. Relocation may be provided.

About the General Motors Information Technology Launch Team
The GM Information Technology (IT) Launch organization is seeking highly motivated IT professionals to manage the deployment of Manufacturing Real Time Plant Floor IT infrastructure in support of GM’s new vehicle and propulsion(engine, transmission, battery) product launches.

About the role:
The GM Systems Integration Lead is the single point of contact responsible for the delivery of all manufacturing centric IT infrastructure (Servers & Storage, Networks and End User Devices) required for new GM vehicle or powertrain product launches. GM Systems Integration Lead will gain a strong background in manufacturing plant floor system integration, manufacturing operations, manufacturing material and quality processes and systems, manufacturing tooling, and lean manufacturing processes.

This specific role of a Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) Project manager requires a Systems Integration Lead to focus on the cell phone signal coverage technologies being installed, updated and maintained at General Motors. Experience in managing multiple, multi-million dollar projects with different contractors and mobile carriers is an asset in this position. As a compliment to this role, other important skills include:

– contract writing and development of Statement of Work

– experience using eSAP

– asset procurement and forecasting

– relationship building with multiple internal and external stakeholders

The GM IT Launch team supports a large scope of GM vehicle and powertrain product programs. We follow a robust IT launch scope delivery methodology to ensure the highest IT manufacturing system deployment quality. Strong collaboration with GM Manufacturing Engineering, GM Manufacturing Product Launch, GM Manufacturing Plants, and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s) is required to integrate critical IT network and systems into manufacturing production systems.

Our corporate goal is simple, design, build, and sell the world’s best vehicles. The GM Manufacturing IT Launch Team directly supports the build component.

Additional Job Description

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology or relevant technical field

Knowledge of SAN storage system hardware (i.e. Isilon)

Familiarity with VMware environment

AutoCAD proficiency

Knowledge of UTP/FIber Optic networks

Self-motivated; Results driven

Excellent communication and collaborative skills

Experienced working in a Manufacturing Plant environment

Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is recommended

7+ years’ experience
