We are looking for a seasoned backend or full-stack Software Engineer with strong interest in delighting customers by delivering high-quality features that are beautiful, performant, easy to maintain.

As a Principal Software Engineer you will be integral in planning and delivering quality features and a great customer experience. Some of the things you’ll be doing include…

  • Work closely in our engineering team to tackle a wide variety of technical challenges in building efficient and scalable software, delivering quality features and a great customer experience.
  • Lead the design, development, deployment of complex features, collaborating with fellow engineers, Product Managers, UX designers, and leadership. Take full ownership of the end-to-end quality.
  • Understand and support the current architecture. Collaborate across teams with other Principal Software Engineers and Architects to evolve that architecture so it meets new technical requirements and needs of our partner teams.
  • Promote engineering best practices and code quality, both through leading by example and through providing feedback to other Software Engineers.
  • Partner, collaborate, and solve problems with teams across the company.
  • Mentor team members and help them grow their own careers.

Who you are…

  • Experienced: You have 10+ years of back-end experience building scalable web applications using micro-services and SOA architectures. You have lead complex projects from start to end, including conceptualization, product integration and deployment. You have driven architectural change in your organization achieving tangible, data-driven improvements.
  • Technical: You have built world class user applications systems that power complex web applications with one or more of the following languages: Java, PostgresSQL, ActiveMQ, SNS, SQS, Spring and Hibernate frameworks, Webservices (REST) and RPC framework. You are equally passionate working through complex design considerations and diving deep into the code. You love to design software and write code that is not only robust and efficient, but also easy to maintain and monitor.
  • Proactive: You have a knack for anticipating problems and are self-motivated to venture beyond the obvious. You actively look for ways to automate and simplify complex processes, take pride in being thorough and detail-oriented, and function well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team Player: You enjoy collaborating, learning from and teaching others so we can all become better developers. You assume good intent in others, and actively do your part to make a positive work environment.
  • Courageous Communicator: You have experience in effectively advising senior stakeholders on the technical scope and feasibility of complex product requirements. You are skilled at explaining technically complex concepts and design to all levels within an organization.
  • You are a learner and have a growth mindset, the desire to ramp up in new domains and are curious to find solutions to complex problems.
