Reading Truck Body is seeking experienced Automotive Painters for 1st and 2nd Shift.

1st shift- Monday through Thursday 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM
2nd shift- Monday through Friday 3:30 PM – 11:30 PM

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Painter will work under the direction of the Team Leader to complete painting of specialty truck equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare surfaces as needed by sanding and grinding
  • Mix, thin, and adjust spray equipment for proper atomization
  • Mix paints and primers to exact specifications ordered by the customer
  • Apply coatings per recommended thickness
  • Quality inspection process for units and parts scheduled to be painted
  • Quality inspection on painted units
  • Operate paint spraying equipment including pot guns, compressors etc.
  • Craftsmanship must meet Company quality standards
  • Follow all Company safety rules and policies
  • Maintain records on paint

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two years on industrial paint experience, preferably automotive or aviation
  • Able to complete job essential functions with minimal experience
  • Familiar with various coatings to include effects on temperature and humidity on coatings
  • Knowledge of fast and slow evaporating solvents
  • Experience using gauges
  • Experience using pot gun spray equipment
  • Knowledge of interpreting Paint Data Sheets and Hazard Information
  • Respect of safety and environmental practices per Company policy
  • Works well in a team environment, to give and take input, and perform in a professional manner at all times
