Job Summary:

A senior financial analyst specializes in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, reporting their findings to management and users to assist management in making informed decisions. Ability to create ad hoc reporting to support various segments of the business using multiple systems, as well as training users and other departments in how to use and create reports for their own use. Responsible for creating Financial Reports for internal and external use. This role is a hybrid role that will focus on the production financial statements and reports, as well as the technology used to create them, but also require traditional accounting and finance analytical work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Update monthly management reports in a timely and accurate manner, recognizing potential misstatements and correcting at the source when needed.

· Develop an understanding of data tools (SAP, BPC, Data Warehouse, etc.) and subsystems used to assemble the department’s financial reports and play a role building the tools.

· Analyze Income Statement/P&L lines for parts of HP Hood’s business, recognizing trends and coming up with explanations for budget variances each month.

· Reconcile, analyze, and adjust balance sheet accounts for HP Hood as needed.

· Work with other departments in Hood to help them understand key performance indicators and financial results of their functional areas (e.g Sales, Marketing, etc.).

· Assist department management in their continuous quest for process improvement and optimization of the SAP ERP tools coming online.

· Participate in all facets of month-end close, including the preparation and posting of GL entries to ensure accounts accurately reflect activities of their department and the business as a whole.

· Assemble and furnish audit support to 3rd party auditors of Hood’s annual financial statements.

Education and Experience:

· BS in Accounting, Finance, or similar.

· 5-7 years or Accounting related experience

· Prior SAP experience, and related SAP planning tool BPC, preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

· Strong work ethic and willingness to dive into complex problems to find logical solutions, and ways to improve reporting.

· Solid MS Excel knowledge with ability to learn and grow that skillset along with other data applications and technology.

· Organization skills and ability to prioritize to meet multiple deadlines.

· Requires excellent communication skills to work with various departments within the organization.

· Proven analytical skills and attention to detail.
