ChannelAdvisor is looking for an experienced Vice President of Human Resources to be a strategic member of our executive management team, leading our global programs to attract, manage, develop and retain top talent. The ideal candidate will take a hands-on approach and have experience scaling the Human Resources function for a fast-growing, global, high tech organization. The VP of HR will report to our COO and be responsible to lead all aspects of the HR function including; talent management, employment branding, talent acquisition, development and retention, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and related legal compliance. This position leads all global Human Resources practices and objectives to provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, curiosity, innovation, leading to outstanding company results and a superior employee experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the Human Resources function for a growing, global, public company with 850+ employees. This includes a budget of $2M+ and 18 approved HR resources located in the US, UK, Madrid, and Melbourne, serving offices in seven countries (US, UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany, France, Australia).
  • As a key member of the executive leadership team, act as a strategic partner responsible for developing and implementing key human resource and talent management programs designed to support strategic company initiatives.
  • Ensure implementation of the Human Resources strategy within budget and compliance with all applicable local regulations, laws and company policies and vision.
  • Champion Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the organization, mentoring the employee-led DE&I team, and ensuring action & goal achievement.
  • Lead the global human resources talent acquisition & management function to attract, manage, develop and retain top talent. Lead global recruitment program to achieve aggressive growth goals using best practices, including identifying areas for process improvement, cost savings, and enhancement for our current talent acquisition strategies.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the employee experience: on-boarding, orientation, career progression, and exit / offboarding processes. Execute bi-annual employee engagement surveys, driving company wide and functional specific action to improve the employee experience and act on feedback. Proactively work to maintain high employer branding in all locales.
  • Proactively deploy globally competitive compensation and benefits programs, including equity incentive and pay for performance, ensuring our programs scale and remain competitive and compliant as each locale grows.
  • Lead executive compensation and equity incentive programs ensuring full SEC compliance, active participation with Compensation Committee, coordinating with Legal and Finance on all compensation related SEC and international filings.
  • Develop and lead company wide succession planning, for the executive management team and all leadership roles.
  • Develop and lead employee training and personal development within an intentional career progression framework, enabling ChannelAdvisors to know how they can learn and grow their careers.
  • Develop leadership skills across the organization, from first line management through Executive leaders, empowering leaders to be better managers, enabling business results, employee career development, and employee retention.
  • Act as a key member of the business continuity team, working collaboratively to support employee health and safety.
  • Assist with broad company wide employee communication and relations, including Company Kick Off, annual holiday and Founders Day anniversary events.
  • Enhance human resource strategy to improve overall company effectiveness, including HRIS systems to maximize efficiency and scalability
  • Select and manage external recruiters, as well other HR specific vendors and consulting partners in all geographies.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in scaling complex, fast-moving organizations globally – especially within EMEA (UK, Ireland, Spain, France, Germany), APAC (Australia) and the United States.
  • Proven results within all human resources disciplines, such as employment relations, workforce planning, compensation, safety, training, organizational development, benefits, performance management, and employment practices.
  • Executive presence, professional confidence and ability to influence and impact as a key internal leader and external ambassador.
  • Business oriented, flexible, hands-on, self-starter, creative, innovative, passionate, and results driven utilizing sound judgement with a focus on responsiveness and delivery of superlative services.
  • Strong relationship management skills, including high levels of resourcefulness, influence/organizational savvy, and execution skills. Success collaborating, partnering with and influencing business leaders in a matrix environment where achieving buy-in through relationship building and influence is critical. Must be a team player, effective at sharing ideas and information.
  • Exemplary professional integrity and ethics.
  • Demonstrated history as a trusted strategic partner to the CEO/COO, compensation committees, board members and other company leaders.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to advise internal clients clearly and succinctly. Effectively communicate and work across functional areas and levels to achieve results.
  • Excellent organizational, cross functional, multi tasking and project management skills with a proven ability to design and implement people strategy that drives business results.
  • Deep experience with top talent acquisition, meeting aggressive growth targets, a track record of success.
  • Broad knowledge and experience in international employment law and working with international internal clients and external vendors.
  • Experience in the development and administration of competitive, global / local benefits and compensation programs.

Education / Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in human resources, including experience in fast-paced, high growth tech companies.
  • Public company experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Human Resources, Organizational Development or related field. Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
